The Role of the Workforce Investment Board
Businesses cannot function without a skilled set of employees. Increasing the skill levels of all workers in the Northeast Kingdom will help businesses thrive and grow, and employees advance their careers. The State of Vermont has increased funding for workforce development, and regional Workforce Investment Board's (WIB) will oversee the use of these funds. The Northeast Kingdom WIB’s mission is to provide leadership and support for workforce development in collaboration with employers, educators and employees.

The Northeast Kingdom WIB is not an education provider. Its role is to gather training requirements and assist in making the training needed available. We are a small group of volunteers that represent only a few NEK businesses and industries, who cannot define the areas training requirements without a lot of input from both employers and employees. To do this we need your help!  We need you to complete a short survey regarding your training needs.

The Survey
The need for computer-related skills is becoming increasingly important in nearly every local industry and business so they are the primary focus of our Survey. However, we also recognize that training in many other skill areas is also need so the secondary purpose of this survey is to start identifying other training needs which can be further quantified in the future. So please take the survey regardless of your computer skill needs.
